Dr Gopa Nair recently completed a Senior Leadership Programme at Oxford University's Said Business School. He is a seasoned Chief Executive with 20 years’ experience in international development across multiple market sectors. His experience covers a wide array of roles and geographies, having held senior management positions in Oxfam, International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), Save the Children, Lebara Foundation and Nutrition International. He is passionate about unlocking the potential of people and teams he leads. He has a proven track record of expanding the relevance, reach, and impact of organisations, by creating alignment and building momentum for collective action.

He is currently the Executive Director of the Leo and Mia Foundation & Group Head of CSER for XA Group of Companies. In his most recent position at Nutrition International (NI), Gopa served as the Deputy Regional Director for Asia, promoting social justice and internationally recognized health and labour rights. Gopa was responsible for overseeing NI’s programmes and operational activities in member states within Asia. During his tenure as the CEO of the Lebara Foundation,Gopa provided leadership in the management and implementation of United Nations’ projects across various countries. He also coordinated various emergency responses to the conflict, drought and food crises. As a renowned global health and development expert, Gopa was responsible for leading several collaborative global projects, technical advisory groups, consultations involving WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNAIDS and other international agencies.

Gopa is a relentless promoter of diversity and inclusiveness in economic development with empowerment, equality and social justice as a continual priority. He is a firm believer and strong advocate for fundamental rights and gender equality.

Gopa is a Harvard Business School trained strategist. He holds an MBA from Cass Business School in London, a Master’s degree in Social Development and Health from Queen Margaret University in the UK, and a fellowship from the Department for International Development, UK(DfID).
